Blue Ridge Brown Trout Sets Lake Record

You might not think of Georgia when anglers talk about trophy brown trout, and you’re even less likely to consider a Georgia reservoir as a destination for big trout. However, several north Georgia lakes in the mountains offer good fishing for brown trout, and some of those fish are growing very large.

Guide Nathan Lewis set a lake-record mark for Blue Ridge brown trout with a 9-lb., 4.8-oz. fish that he caught on Dec. 7, 2016.
