Hunt Story

My husband walked me to the stand at 6:00 a.m. and went back to the house to get ready to go to work. A 5-point buck came out right at legal shooting time. Around a quarter till it presented a shot. I made a shoulder shot and it ran out of sight. Called my husband who said he heard shot. He said we need to give it a half an hour. I settled down to wait 30 minutes before going to look for it. At 6:54 I saw another one coming toward the plot. I texted my husband and said stay at the house as I was afraid he would head down and spook it. This buck was much larger and worth bucking out for! He made his way across the plot and was not stopping. I got my .243 ready and made a noise to stop him before he hit the tree line. I shot him in the neck and he dropped. My husband texted me asking if I shot again. I said yes he's down. He said another deer? I said yes. He said what is it? I said not sure, being facetious. He got to the stand with the truck and said where is it? I pointed. He said over there with the antlers sticking up high in the air?!! I knew it was big but wanted to see his reaction when he got close. He said as he got closer, its an eight no at ten!!! A really big ten!!! Holy cow what a deer! It is the biggest deer I have ever gotten. After lots of pictures we made the short track of the other one. It only went 40 yards. Today was the most amazing hunt I have ever had.
