Hunt Story

My husband walked me to the stand around 6:30 a.m., so it was still dark. I was in a new box stand that my nephews built, so I texted them that morning and thanked them for the awesome stand. Right before 8 a.m. a doe ran to the north of me and started feeding in the woods to the east of me. A few minutes later a young 8 or came out to the north of me and walked up the path heading north. When he got to some limbs hanging over the path, he stopped to eat some of them. About 5 minutes of him hanging around on the top of the north hill, this big buck come walking down to the little buck. The big buck starting eating on the limbs too, then I had the perfect shot. However I was shaking so bad that I told myself to calm down. I took a deep breathe, aimed for the left shoulder of the deer and pulled the trigger! I knew I hit him. After it seem like an hour (only 10 minutes) my husband came to track the deer. After looking about 20 minutes, we found the big buck laying in some brush by a log. I was ecstatic! I couldn't believe he was down. He ended up being a 10-point with a broken brow tone, he has an 18 1/8 spread, ended up scoring 155 5/8. Best day that I had in a long time!
