Hunt Story

I have hunted this piece of property for over 20 years. There is typically small bucks and does in the area. Two days before opening day I viewed the pictures on my trail camera and was surprised when I saw this big buck. I notice he came in around 4:00 to 7:30 every evening. I decided I would wait to hunt in that location until the evening hunt, so I went to Cooper Creek WMA for the opening morning hunt. While hunting on Coopers Creek I killed a bear. I left mid-day so that I could be in my stand by 3:00 p.m. Around 3:50 p.m. a nice 8-point made its way to my stand. Since I was after the 10-point, I let the 8-point walk. Between 6:30 - 7:00 both the 8-point and the 10-point came in, and I was able to get a shot at the 10-point. My arrow entered the right behind the shoulder and exited near the opposite shoulder. The buck traveled about 60 yards before dying.
