Hunt Story
After a long history and many years of being out smarted by this ol' boy, we finally connected on Nov. 5. I had gotten trail-cam pictures of him at my stand at 9 a.m. that morning. After getting off work late and already having my bow with me, I knew I didn’t have enough time to run home shower and get my camo. I checked my wind, and it was perfect, so I figured I had nothing to lose and went in after him. After settling in, I let out a challenge grunt four times, and within minutes this ol' 8-year-old brute was in front of me at 20 yards and the rest is history. This hunt proves that with the right wind it doesn’t matter what u have on or what u smell like, you can still pull off a good kill on a mature deer.
