Hunt Story

On opening morning, October 20, 2018, I went out 30 minutes before daylight to my shooting house. After about 45 minutes of hunting, I looked out the window of the shooting house and saw this buck walking toward me down a bush-hogged lane between the pines. When he got about 60 yards out, he turned to the right, went through the pines, and I lost him. I prayed he kept walking straight. He exited the other side of the pines, so I mouth-grunted causing him to stop, and took the shot. He went 40 yards and fell. Once I calmed down, I went down to him and knew that was the biggest buck I’d ever taken.
