Hunt Story

My first encounter was opening day of bow season. I watched him feed for 45 minutes until he finally came in range. But by then, it was getting too dark for a shot, because he would not get broadside. He kept facing me and ran out of light. I waited until almost pitch dark to get out of the stand so I would not spook him. But he was still in food plot so I saw him run. I did not hunt again until next Saturday and saw only a few does. The next hunt was Wednesday, September 19. He came in with another smaller buck at 7:35 p.m. I waited on him to get broadside. At 7:45 p.m., I shot hit him middle ways back. I had good red blood but not a lot. I decided to back out and call dog tracker, Ken Parker. He showed up at 9:45. His dog picked up the trail right away and only went about 150 yards total.
