Hunt Story

Got on a hardwood ridge about 8 a.m. and started seeing deer right away. Saw a big-bodied deer at daylight but could not tell any more before he was gone. At about 8:45 saw two yearlings feeding, and I noticed another deer in some thick stuff, so I assumed it was their mother. But I looked up about 5 minutes later and this buck was walking away. I could not get a shot, so I was sitting there scolding myself for not paying attention. About 5 minutes later I noticed a doe by herself, so I decided to harvest her, and when I put my scope on her, I saw some movement behind her. This buck had come back and turned sideways, and I got a good neck shot and he dropped right there. I am so blessed.
