Hunt Story
This buck aka “Brownie” became a local celebrity in our area. He appeared numerous times on multiple cameras for over a year. He’s a product of hard work and solid management efforts by everyone in the area. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time on a morning when this buck was late coming back home. I was hunting in a box stand overlooking a large cotton field, situated in a pinch point between two blocks of woods. He came out about 50 yards away and turned and headed straight to me in a steady walk about five rows inside the cotton. He got by me but I was able to get a quartering away shot at about 75 yards. The buck weighed over 250 pounds, has +18 inches of mass and grossed 144 inches B&C. We believe he’s at least 5 1/2 years old. This is our club’s third entry this season…hoping we can add at least one more!
