Hunt Story

I was hunting over a food plot on October 11, 2015. It was about 8:00 a.m. when a 3-pointer walked into my view. About 5 minutes later a hen turkey came into the food plot as well. The turkey stayed in the food plot for only a short while, but the 3-pointer remained and kept looking over his shouler in the direction of the hardwoods. Next, at around 8:15 a.m. the huge 12-pointer steped in the food plot and began feeding from exactly where the 3-pointer had been looking. A nice 8-pointer came out behind him and also began feeding. I began shaking as two great bucks were standing and feeding in front of me. I raised my rifle and put the crosshairs on the largest Georgia buck deer I had ever seen, he turned broadside to my stand and I took the shot. He dropped in his tracks, but then attempted get back up and was trying to get out of the food plot, so I shot three more times. I called my dad and told him that I had shot a giant deer and to come to my stand as soon as possible. I decided to climb down from my box blind and go to the spot where I had seen the deer drop. I followed his trail for a short distance and he was only 15 yards inside the wood line. It was a great day for me, and I love deer hunting more with every hunt.
