Hunt Story

On my second day of weekend hunt at our Buckhead Plantation Hunt Club, I had not seen anything that morning after getting to my stand just right, 15 to 20 minutes before daylight. I had only seen does the day before, knowing that my game camera had shown me a great deer the week before. He was a big deer with a number of brow tines very visible in the game camera shots I had gotten of him. At 8:15 a.m. the next morning (Oct. 11, 2015) I saw a deer standing in the clearcut at the end of my food plot which is 120 yards from my range finder shot I had just ranged to put on my stand. I looked through my binoculars and realized it was the big brow tine buck. I watched him very carefully come to the edge of the plot. I decided this was my best buck ever. I made the shot with my 45 cal. muzzleloader and he was everything and more than the game camera had shown me.
