Hunt Story

The rain had slowed as I headed to my stand Tuesday evening, September 29, 2015. At about 6:15 p.m., a doe and fawn came through the hardwoods. The doe spooked but did not snort. Ten minutes later a small 8-pointer walked down the trail, and right behind him was a 10-point buck. The 10-pointer stopped 15 yards away from me, and I shot. He ran about 250 yards down the hill and crashed into a nearby creek. I climbed down from my stand and couldn't find any blood, so I walked until I came upon him lying in the creek. He's my biggest bow kill so far.
