Lake Weiss Fishing Report April 2017

Weiss: Level: 0.4 feet below full pool. Temp: Mid to upper 50s. Clarity: Stained.

Bass: Guide Mark Collins reports, “Bass fishing is good, with a lot bass shallow and starting on a prespawn pattern. These aggressive bass can be caught on a variety of lures right now. Shallow-running crankbaits, spinnerbaits and jigs are working well.”

Crappie: Very good. Mark reports, “Crappie fishing is great, and they are migrating into the mouths and deeper areas of spawning coves and creeks. Weiss crappie in April can be caught long-line trolling with Jiffy Jigs in 1/24- and 1/16-oz. sizes and in colors JJ08,JJ13, JJ17, JJ20, JJ24, JJ25, and Mark’s blue and sexy bug.”
