Lake Tobesofkee Fishing Report December 2016

GON Staff | November 22, 2016

Tobesofkee: Level: 1 foot low. Temp: 68 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Tournament angler Clayton Batts reports, “December will be the best month to fish Tobesofkee all year. The winter drawdown will begin Dec. 12 and last all month. I like to cover water fast when the lake is low in order to find actively feeding fish. My favorite way to catch them is fishing a Rat-L-Trap on main-lake clay banks and yo-yoing a Trap in the middle of pockets. My favorite Trap to throw is a 1/4-oz. chrome/blue on the bank and a 1/2-oz. in the middle of the pockets. Also, a chartreuse/white Strikezone Lures Master Blaster spinnerbait or glimmer-blue Strikezone Lures CB Sling Blade will produce around shallow rock during the drawdown. Another option is to flip any wood cover or docks that still have water on them. Use a 3/8-oz. black/blue Strikezone Lures jig teamed up with a green-pumpkin Big Bite Baits chunk. Please, remember to practice catch and release during this time, and be careful running the lake.”
