Lake Tobesofkee Fishing Report August 2016

GON Staff | July 28, 2016

Tobesofkee: Level: 1 foot below full pool. Temp: Low 90s. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Tough. Tournament angler Jordan McDonald reports, “The bass have transitioned into their summertime patterns, and the bream are on bed. You can find bass first thing in the morning on the outside edges of grassbeds at the mouths of pockets and on the main lake. These bass can be caught on junebug/black Zoom Ol’ Monster worms and Zoom Trick Worms either Texas rigged or on shaky heads. Once the sun gets up, look for the fish to be all the way in the back of the docks in the shade and in brushpiles. Utilize the same baits as mentioned above. Majority of the fish this time of year will go out to suspend during the day and then come back to the grassbeds before or right after dark. These patterns should stay true throughout the month and into September. Fishing is best this time of year at night when the water cools off. Please utilize best safety practices when fishing at night as there is not much light on the lake.”
