Lake Russell Fishing Report September 2016

GON Staff | August 30, 2016

Russell: Level: 1 foot low. Temp: 82-85 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Tournament angler Kerry Partain reports, “Bass fishing has been slow the past few weeks, and the fish seem to be scattered. We have been catching some smaller fish on Carolina rigs and drop shots in 15 to 20 feet of water around rocks and brush. With the shorter days and cooler temps, I expect the fishing to improve as the bait and bass begin to transition into the bigger creeks. The crankbait and topwater bite should begin to pick up this month, and the bigger fish will be feeding early in the mornings.”
