Lake Nottely Fishing Report March 2016

GON Staff | February 24, 2016

Nottely: Level: 13.2 feet below the full pool of 1761.81. Temp: 47 degrees. Clarity: Stained.

Stripers: Guide Jeremy Seabolt reports, “We’ve been catching fish on freelines and planer boards in the mornings and evenings. Midday you can catch them on downlines on humps and points with a 30-foot bottom. Right now we’ve got an ok Red Fin and fluke bite the first few hours of morning and at night, which should get better in the next few weeks if the weather breaks. In March, I’ll be fishing the creeks hard, pulling big herring and gizzard shad. We’ll be pulling them mid creek all the way back to shallow flats. Work the banks with Red Fins and bucktails. March through May is the time to chase the big fish, and remember to try and practice catch and release with the big fish. Take pictures, and let them grow.”
