Lake Eufaula Fishing Report June 2016

GON Staff | June 2, 2016

Eufaula: Level: 2 feet below 190 pool. Temp: High 70s. Clarity: Light stain.

Bass: Tournament angler Les Bratcher reports, “Eufaula is heading to the usual summer patterns. The frog bite will be good in the shallows on all types of frogs. The anglers who like to go offshore will find fish on the ledges and can catch them with crankbaits, worms and jigs. It will always help to fish the ledges when the current is running. Best of luck, and tight lines.” Guide Sam Williams reports, “Bass are settling in on the ledges, but not necessarily on trash. Junebug-colored soft plastics rigged on a Carolina rig are getting bites. The early bite is still shallow where you locate grass. Senkos in green colors are the trick. Shallow crankbaits are also working near surface cover.” For a full feature on June bass fishing on Eufaula with tournament pro Matt Baty, turn to 18. Matt details a shallow bream-bed pattern in the grass combined with a deep-water ledge pattern. The article includes 10 locations with GPS coordinates.
