For most of us fishermen, drowning crickets and worms for bream is where it all started. And all across Georgia, if you can find a hole of water larger than your living room, you’re apt to come across bluegills, shellcrackers, redbreasts and more in varying populations and combinations. Obviously, some of those areas are better than others when it comes to filling a stringer—and since bream fishing is at its best in May, GON has put...

Roswell Outdoor Academy Camp Seeking Volunteers & Youth
Roswell Outdoor Academy Camp is looking for volunteers and camp counselors for their week-long day camp June 22-26. A fly-fishing expert and an archery instructor are needed to do 1 1/2-hour clinics Monday, June 22 or Tuesday, June 23. The camp is designed to promote outdoor activities, such as hunting and fishing; as well as archery, gun safety, fly fishing, game calling, decoying, air rifles, species identification, outdoor cooking and much more.

"I think the point of the camp is that kids get to be exposed to so many great activities in our community these days, from karate to drama and almost every sport imaginable. We felt that hunting and fishing should be on that list as well. By introducing a child to these wholesome and beneficial hobbies through the Roswell Outdoor Academy, we may help create a passion that will last a lifetime", said Camp Director David Smith.

The day camp takes place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Garrard's Landing on...

Each year in April, the tripletail just sort of show up. No one really knows where they come from or how far they travel, but biologists tell us that they migrate here each year.

These hard-fighting fish resemble an oversized...
