Griffin Gravitt Wins GON’s Youth Shoot-Out

Adventure Outdoors and Woods-N-Water award grand prizes!

Griffin Gravitt, 15, of Ashburn, wasted little time going to Adventure Outdoors in Smyrna with $3,000 in his pocket. Griffin was enjoying his big shopping spree less than 24 hours after winning GON’s Youth Big-Buck Contest Shoot-Out on July 29 at GON’s Outdoor Blast.

“I got a new Browning A5 12-gauge shotgun, a Yeti Roadie cooler, a tie down strap for it, a pair of Costa sunglasses and two boxes of bullets. I still have $800 in credit, and I’m planning on getting a gun safe when we go back up there in a truck to bring it home,” said Griffin.

For winning the Youth Shoot-Out, Griffin also won a dream deer and hog hunting trip with Woods-N-Water outfitters in Wrightsville. In addition to some quality father-and-son stand time, Griffin and his dad will be staying at a remote and quiet lodge, will be well fed, and they get to fish in a private pond during the middle of the day.

“I really appreciate the opportunity to be able to do something like this,” said Griffin. “Thanks for the time everyone put forth making this an unforgettable experience for me and my family.”

Griffin’s testimony is reason enough for parents of young deer hunters to make sure their subscriptions are up to date, so their kids can participate in the 2016-17 GON Youth Big-Buck Contest. I can promise you that one youth 15 years of age or younger will be back at Adventure Outdoors next year to spend $3,000 as they get outfitted for a dream hunt at Woods-N-Water.
