Hunt Story

On a very cold morning, I was sitting in a box blind overlooking a food plot. By 10 a.m. I had not seen a deer. I decided to change locations. My dad, Mike Whitehead and friend John Seginak, thought they could push a nice buck out of a briar thicket. After positioning myself in an ideal location on a hardwood hillside overlooking the thicket, they began to slowly walk through the briars toward me. After about 15 minutes, I noticed a large buck sneaking out on my side. I waited for a clear shot and took it at 40 yards. The buck piled up no more than 30 yards from where I shot him.
