Hunt Story

I was hunting a ladder stand on the Kinchafoonee Creek at the edge of the property when the buck chased two does across a clearcut in front of me that had been planted in pines this year. All three deer ran across my front from left to right at about 100 yards, and when the buck slowed down for a few seconds, I shot him. He ran about 20 yards and dropped. I waited 30 minutes to make sure he was down, and then went to go look for him. He was right where I had seen him fall in some tall grass. I drug him back to the access road and got back in the stand because we had several other people from out of town hunting with us, and I didn't want to disturb their hunting by leaving to take him to the processor. The whole scenario from the time I spotted him to the time I took the shot was about 10 seconds. This is my biggest buck yet, and I have been hunting seriously for about 18 years.
