Hunt Story

My son, Reed Smith, and his friend were hunting and the same stand together on January 13, 2018. At around 8:35 AM a small 4-point appeared, and the boys passed on the deer. Minutes later a 9-point came out followed by a nice 8-point which was the one Reed ended up shooting. Two does were also hanging out with them, but it did not appear as though the bucks were pursuing the does. My son, Reed, and his friend Kaleb decided to wait for both deer to present a broadside shot. The 9-point actually walked out of sight but came back shortly. After what seemed like forever, but was really just a few minutes, both dear presented a shot. It was at that time the boys quietly counted to three and fired at exactly the same time. Reed's deer fell immediately and Kaleb's deer ran about 100 yards or so and piled up. Needless to say both boys were beside themselves with excitement!
