Hunt Story
This very old deer was a challenge. He was exclusively nocturnal on the trail cameras for several months and very sporadic. Finally in mid December, he started occasionally showing up in the first hour of daylight when the weather was cold. I waited for a favorable wind to hunt his most frequented hardwood bottom, and I was lucky enough to close the deal an hour after daylight as he was making a post-rut scrape.
