Hunt Story

It was the afternoon of Nov. 15, 2016. Got in my stand about 3:50 p.m. I have been deer hunting for 46 years, and it was the first time I've ever seen a buck mount a doe. He mounted her twice and then she ran off. I lost him in the thicket, and then I picked him back up moving slow. I shot him about 4:05 p.m., and he fell where I shot him. It all happened in about 15 minutes. I called my wife and told her that I just shot the biggest deer that I have ever shot. I wish she could have there with me. I called my best friend, and it took us about two hours to get him out of the woods. This is one of the most exciting hunts that I have had since I was a little boy. I am employed at Jeff Lindsey Communities as production manager and consider myself privileged to work for an awesome builder and deer hunter. Jeff has a hunting show, The Lindsey Way.
