Hunt Story

The day that I killed this 8-point was the same day that a nice cold front was coming in, so I was sure that I would see something! I did not think that I would be seeing this deer though. I put out some "Doe in Estrus" from Wildlife Research Center and the wind was blowing just right. I watched does for about 45 minutes, and they seemed very spooked while they were there. Usually they just play in the water and eat acorns but for some reason they did not this day. Out of the corner of my eye I see a big body deer walking out, and I couldn't get the best look at his horns, but I did know it was a buck and he had a huge body. So I watched him and decided I should take the chance and shoot him. After I saw him, he dropped immediately and I prayed that this wasn't the 4-point that I had been seeing on my trail camera. Finally I got out the stand and walked over to him and was pleased to see that it was the deer I had been watching on my camera. I am so thankful the Lord placed this deer in my path!
