Hunt Story

Got in the stand about 6:15 a.m. Heard two bucks fighting and grunting out in front of me before daylight. When they finished, I got my grunt call out and started doing some grunting back. About 7:10 a.m., two smaller bucks came in, and the buck I shot and a doe came in a few minutes later. He was feeding about 25 yards in front of me. He finally turned broadside and I made the shot. I knew I hit him a little far back, so after I got through shaking and thanking the good Lord for this opportunity, I got down and checked my arrow. It had good blood on it but also had gut matter on it. I figured I got liver and guts so I backed out. I waited till around lunch and went and looked for him. I got on his blood trail and found him dead 100 yards from where I shot him.
