Hunt Story
There I was, sitting in my stand making notes and surfing the web for upcoming articles and ads for Your Town Magazine a Direct Mail Publication to residences and businesses in Conyers, Covington, Oxford, Social Circle, Mansfield, Newborn, Porterdale, Stockbridge, McDonough, Snellville, Loganiville and Lithonia. I retreat to the woods to have a moment of peace and reflection on what God has given us, a prime time for deep thought as well. Prior to my hunt there had been a trail camera and many pics of this buck. As a family, my sons and I share the love of hunting, family time and having quality meat on the table. Excited to meet this guy up close at approximately 20 yards as he watched the area attentively, but my cover was good and I went unnoticed. One arrow and he took off like a bolt of lightening, sounded like a bulldozer plowing through the woods. After 45 minutes I began to track and was pleased I only had to look 50 yards or less from my stand to where he laid. Just after nine weeks since rotator cuff surgery, I used a crossbow instead of my compound and required additional muscle from my son to get him loaded in the truck. I'll be looking for this brute's daddy this evening!
