GON Staff | June 3, 2014

This recipe is great to use when entertaining family and friends. Whether it’s Christmas parties or New Year’s parties. You name it, you need snacks, and here’s a great one. A recipe for deer poppers.

What You’ll Need:
1 package of cubed deer meat
1 bottle of Dale’s marinade
1 pack of sliced bacon (cut bacon slices in half)
1 jar of sliced jalapeno peppers
toothpicks

Slice the cubed deer meat into one-inch wide strips. Place a couple of jalapeno peppers on the end of a strip and roll it up like a sleeping bag.
Place the little venison sleeping bag at the end of a piece of bacon and roll it again. Use a toothpick to skewer the roll, holding it together.
When all the venison is used up, soak the poppers in a pan of Dale’s for at least one hour and then take them out and grill them on medium heat until the venison is cooked.
