2009 GON OUTDOOR BLAST FAST FACTS

Admission is only $10 per car load on Friday night.
Enjoy the Blast and the new Pig Out on the Plaza. Some of Georgia's best competitive BBQ cooking teams will battle for the title of BBQ Blast Grand Champion. Friday night the BBQ teams will be selling food for those that want to fill their bellies. These GA Barbecue Association teams know all the tricks. You don't want to miss it. Plus all proceeds from the Pig Out go to providing venison to the Macon Food Bank.

• Truck-Buck Shootout Finals:
Watch the excitement as 42 Georgia hunters compete for thousands of dollars in prizes. Who will overcome the nerves, out shoot the rest and drive home a brand new Chevy Silverado from John Megel Chevrolet this year? Semi-finals start at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The first pellet flies at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday to determine the Ultimate Champion.

• The Sportsman's Antique Road Show:
A team of experts will be on hand to evaluate your firearms, knives and fishing gear. Dig through the garage, knock the dust off that stuff and bring it to the Blast. Is that thing just sentimental or is it a Treasure? It's free to find out.

• Wall of Fame: Get up close and personal with Georgia's Biggest Bucks of 2008. This massive collection of Georgia bucks will having you itching for opening day.

• Illinois Whitetail Hunt Giveaway: Midwest Whitetail Adventures is giving one lucky Blast attendee the chance at a buck of a lifetime in Pike County, IL. There is no cost to enter to win. Register just after you walk into the Blast. Visit www.midwestwhitetailadventures.com and get your blood pumping.

• Georgia Bowhunter Classic: Hosted by the guys who make the "Southern Woods 'n' Water" TV show, this 3-D archery tournament has divisions for men, women and kid archers.

• BBQ Blast: Some of the Southeast's top barbecue cooks will match wits and flavors at the Blast. Now is your chance to pick up a few pointers and probably a sample or two as well.

• Kids Pavilion: Shooting simulators, games and more! The GON Outdoor Blast is a family-centered event that provides numerous games and entertainment for children. The kids can take part in DNR-certified hunter education courses at the Blast. They'll be ready for opening day.

• Outdoor Channel: The Blast provides a very rare opportunity to view Outdoor Channel Outfitters World Record Exhibit of trophy game animals and fish. This exhibit is an impressive array of World Records used to promote Outdoor Channel Outfitters, an organization dedicated to providing services to professional outfitters and guides. The exhibit features the Hansen Buck, the World Record Typical Whitetail, the Missouri Monarch, the famous Hole in the Horn Buck, as well as many other World Record class big game animals and sport fish. The exhibit travels across the nation displaying this amazing collection of World Class trophies. We are exciting to have it in Macon.
