Outdoor Edge has put a sharp new twist on the popular survival paracord bracelet with the introduction of the new Para-Claw. Wear the Para-Claw anywhere and have an inconspicuous utility/personal defense knife always at the ready. Developed by retired bounty hunter Fugi Escobido and Outdoor Edge’s David Bloch, this innovative new knife is an essential tool for any adventurer or survivalist.
The Para-Claw™ features a 1.5-inch hawkbill blade ground from 8Cr13MoV stainless steel with a stealthy BlackStone™ finish. The blade is integrally molded to a glass/nylon guard that ties into the bracelet. Handle grooves and jimping (a series of notches) on the thumb ramp ensure a positive grip at all times. The patent-pending sheath system locks the knife securely for immediate deployment in any situation. Once deployed, the paracord bracelet forms the knife handle.
Each bracelet is hand-tied from 550 paracord and is available in three sizes and colors. The bracelet has an adjustable loop to fine-tune the fit and a steel T-post for easy attachment. The medium and large Para-Claw are offered in both black and woodland camo, and the small is available in a purple-black two-tone. The small-sized Para-Claw fits a wrist circumference of 5.75 to 6.5 inches, the medium fits a wrist size of 6.25 to 7 inches, and the large fits a 7-inch wrist or larger.
“We are very excited to be the first to bring the Para-Claw to market,” said Bloch. “Being able to wear a practical and effective knife on your wrist is a unique carry option never before offered. There are so many different applications for the Para-Claw, from a quick-release rescue knife to survival situations, personal defense and everyday use. Whenever a knife is needed, the Para-Claw is at the ready.”
It will be available at retailers nationwide and conveniently online in May at www.outdooredge.com for a suggested retail price of $29.95.
