The Women in the Outdoors program helps women gain confidence in outdoor skills through hands-on activities. This year’s courses include: pistol shooting, shotgun/clays, rifle shooting, active shooter-situational awareness, hunter education, archery, gun cleaning, turkey hunting 101, hiking-backpacking, woodsmanship, deer hunting 101, field-dressing, fishing 101, fly casting, camping, scrapbooking in the outdoors, mead/wine making, natural yarn dying, herbs 101 and outdoor cooking. These courses are offered in order for women to achieve confidence and competence in these outdoor skills.

The registration deadline is Sept. 7, and all fees include the use of equipment, lodging and meals. For new NWTF members, the full weekend (Friday-Sunday) is $135, Saturday (lunch & dinner) is $85, and Saturday (lunch) is $60. For active NWTF members, the full weekend is $100. Women ages 14 to 17 must be accompanied by a female adult older than 18 years of age.
