Free Kids Day in Franklin County

NRA YHEC event is March 10

GON Staff | February 21, 2018

Go ahead and mark Saturday, March 10 on your calendar, and plan a trip to northeast Georgia to attend a great kids event that is completely free.

The Currahee Friends of NRA are hosting the YHEC Fun Day on a farm in Franklin County. YHEC is the NRA’s Youth Hunter Education Challenge.

DNR and NRA stations will allow kids to participate in archery, rimfire rifle and skeet shooting. There will be fishing in stocked ponds, including a pond stocked with rainbow trout. The day will also feature a Snakes Alive show by Steve Scruggs.

Hotdogs and hamburgers will be provided, along with a T-shirt—and it’s all free.

The address for the event is 1570 North Clarks Creek Road, Franklin, GA 30557.
