DNR Law Enforcement’s NW Georgia Region Office Moves To Acworth

DNR Press Release | September 9, 2016

SOCIAL CIRCLE, GA – Georgia DNR Law Enforcement’s Region I Office, which covers 20 counties in the northwest part of the state, just relocated from Calhoun to Acworth, bringing it closer to Atlanta and Allatoona Lake.

“With such an increase of recreational activity on the Chattahoochee (River) in Cobb and Fulton counties and on Allatoona Lake, we believe having our Region Office in closer proximity to those areas will enhance our service level,” said Col. Eddie Henderson, director of the Georgia DNR Law Enforcement Division. “No need to worry for those in the northwest Georgia mountains, we will still have Rangers working those counties as usual.”

The Region I Office had been in Calhoun since the 1950s, but in recent years, the building on Memory Lane couldn’t meet the current and future needs of DNR’s growing Law Enforcement Division.

The new office, now located at 781 Red Top Mountain Road, S.E., Acworth, GA 30102, is on Red Top Mountain State Park and is a more modern facility with adequate space and convenient access to I-75.

Citizens with inquiries regarding Bartow, Carroll, Catoosa, Chattooga, Cherokee, Cobb, Dade, Douglas, Fannin, Floyd, Fulton, Gilmer, Gordon, Haralson, Murray, Paulding, Pickens, Polk, Walker and Whitfield counties, please call the new office at (770) 529-2424. The fax number is (770) 529-2425
