During the Outdoor Blast in Macon, the state’s best duck callers will gather again at the Macon Centreplex to decide state-champion bragging rights. And along with the calling contests there will be several waterfowl-hunting vendors on hand, including a booth.

The Georgia State Duck Calling Contest will take place Friday, July 22 during the Outdoor Blast. The competition will begin promptly at 4 p.m., so anyone interested in competing should plan to be at the arena no later than 3:30 p.m. The sanctioned Georgia State championship event will earn the winner a ticket to blow in the World's Championship Duck Calling Contest this fall in Stuttgart, Ark. The Georgia State competition is open only to Georgia residents.

Anyone can enter two other calling events that day. The GON Two-Man Team Hunter Championship will feature team members working to sound like live ducks in the timber. And, the Georgia State Meat Duck Calling Contest is back, featuring hunting-style calling. The entry fees are $40 for the Georgia State, $25 for the State Meat and $50 per team in the Two-Man. All contests feature a 100 percent payback, with all entry fees going back to the winners of the events.
