820-lb. Hog Killed In Meriwether County

It took a team effort for a group of Rocky Mount hunters to kill this 820-lb. Meriwether County hog on May 17. The hunters were (top row, from left) Gene Caldwell, Claude Caldwell, Ed Kneuer, Don Windom, Jody Marchman and (bottom row, from left) Trevor Murphy, Fred Murphy, James Murphy and Keith White. About 10 minutes after releasing the dogs on the trail, they were on the hog. Once the hunters got to the scene, they pulled the dogs off and Ed went in for the kill with a 12-inch blade. All the dogs made it out unscathed and are ready for their next big hunt, said Keith.
