Lake Sinclair Fishing Report February 2016

GON Staff | January 28, 2016

Sinclair: Level: 0.2 feet below full pool. Temp: Upper 40s to low 50s. Clarity: Stained.

Bass: GON writer and tournament angler Ronnie Garrison reports that Sinclair has been very good. Ronnie won a club tournament in mid January with 18 pounds and the 5.58-lb. Big Fish. The good bass bite should continue in February, according to tournament pro Grant Kelly. “Keep it simple in February,” he said. A crankbait, a jig ’n pig and a spinnerbait are all you need to catch fish in the cold water. Grant concentrates on Sinclair bass that stay shallow regardless of how cold the water temps get. Look for shallow cover, especially rocks, that is near deep water. For a full feature that includes 10 of Grant’s February holes, see page 14.
