Lake Eufaula Fishing Report November 2016

GON Staff | October 26, 2016

Eufaula: Level: 2.8 feet below 190 full pool. Temp: Low 70s. Clarity: Clear to lightly stain.

Bass: Tournament angler Les Bratcher reports, “The fall upswing is beginning to start at Eufaula. Anglers report they are starting to catch bass around the hydrilla on swim jigs, topwaters, ChatterBaits and punching jigs in the grass. Working the shallow bite is one pattern for November, but the ledge bite is also still good on crankbaits, jigs and worms. The cooler nights will continue to make things better. Major League Fishing is in town, and it will be interesting to see how the pros do. Shad are becoming more active and will carry you to the bass in the next few weeks.” Guide Sam Williams reports, “The mornings are cooling off, and it is really pleasant to be on the water first thing in the day now. The pads are beginning to die back, but the baitfish are still holding in the cover. The topwater bite is good early. We are getting some nice bass behind this cover next to the bank on buzzbaits. The latest shad hatch has been fantastic. The threadfin fry are growing fast, and the bass are feeding steady. They are full and healthy. That is making the bite a little tougher. Jerkbaits and lipless cranks are working through the baitfish schools during feeding frenzies. Shaky heads with short Trick Worms are getting a good bite near the pad cover and shore cover. The deeper bass are on the ledge cover and man-made fish attractors. These are easy to locate with your electronics. The deep bass still like a slower-moving bait. Carolina rigs will work in these areas, as will jigs with a big trailer.”
