Lake Eufaula Fishing Report July 2018

GON Staff | June 28, 2018

Eufaula: Level: 1.1 feet below 190 full pool. Temp: Mid 80s. Clarity: Stained.

Bass: Tournament angler Les Bratcher #bigbitebaits #alxrods reports, “Fishing at Lake Eufaula couldn’t be a lot better than it is right now. Anglers are reporting good catches every day, with some taking large numbers of bass. The lake is full of water, and the Eufaula bass are biting. The shallow bite is good early on topwaters and swim jigs with some guys catching them on plastics, too. When the sun comes up and the heat rolls in, you can go offshore and look for schools of fish. The choice of baits are crankbaits, jigs and plastics. The fish seem to be in all depths with the common thing that if you find them, they will bite. If you want a good summer day of fishing, now is the time to come over to Eufaula for a few days of fishing. Tight lines till next time.” Guide Sam Williams reports, “Bass are hot now, with plenty of keeper-sized bass to catch. The shallow grass and pad cover are holding plenty of bait and bass. The topwater bite is good early and holds good later in the morning and day if cloud cover is present. Worms and Trick Worms on shaky heads are good near cover, too. Deeper fish on structure and attractors  are hitting deep crankbaits, big jigs and Carolina rigs.”
