Lake Eufaula Fishing Report January 2017

GON Staff | December 22, 2016

Eufaula: Level: 2.6 feet below 190 full pool. Temp: Upper 50s to lower 60s. Clarity: Slight stain.

Bass: Guide Sam Williams reports, “The recent rains have been a blessing, and the river is on the rise. The long drought and lower water level have allowed a great amount of grass and vegetation to grow on the shorelines. With the rising water, these bait fields are now under water and are in shallow enough areas that the morning sun will warm these areas and the bait will be active. Bass are still hitting topwater early. On the south end, a spoon jigged in deep cover is getting a good bite. Schooling fish are doing well on lipless crankbaits and diving minnows. Be very safe while on the river. The winds get up quick and can make it very dangerous.”
