Lake Chatuge Fishing Report September 2015

GON Staff | August 26, 2015

Chatuge: Level: 2.2 feet below full pool. Temperature: 80 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass:
Guide Eric Welch reports, “The topwater bite has picked up. I’m throwing Strike King Sexy Dawgs and Zara Spooks the first couple of hours after daylight and before dark. It’s also a good time of year to start throwing Zoom Flukes around boat docks. It’s hard to beat a Zoom Shakey Head with a Swamp Crawler or a Trick Worm. I’m always throwing a drop shot off deep points and offshore. You can also catch fish around laydowns, throwing a finesse worm. If you want to try something new to catch big spots, throw a Carolina rig with a Zoom Fluke, and pull it off long points and around offshore structure. This is the time of year to pay close attention to electronics for those fish chasing bait balls.”
