Lake Blue Ridge Fishing Report March 2016

GON Staff | February 24, 2016

Blue Ridge: Level: 10.4 feet below full pool. Temp: 47 degrees. Clarity: Stained.

Walleye: Guide Jeremy Seabolt reports, “Walleye have been holding in mid-creek areas and are starting up the river. We’ve been catching walleye, smallies and spots pulling herring. The walleye are running 2-6 pounds. By the time this magazine hits the shelves, the walleye fishing should be getting good in the river and creeks. I’ll be pulling herring and throwing 1/2-oz. spoons and jigs. If the fish are not shallow, try moving out to a little deeper water and bounce a herring off the bottom with a 1/8-oz. sinker. Fish this slowly.”
