Clarks Hill Lake Fishing Report February 2016

GON Staff | January 27, 2016

Clarks Hill: Level: 0.8 feet below full pool. Temp: Low 50s. Clarity: The water was extremely stained due to the spillway gates being open on the lower dam, but it is beginning to clear up now.

Linesides: Guide William Sasser reports, “Hybrid and striper fishing has been exceptional for this time of year. Downline fishing has held on strong and produced some really nice catches in 25 to 30 feet of water off of channel points and at the edges of the mud line. But with the cooler temperatures finally settling in, planer board and freeline fishing has became the most productive method. The nice hybrids and stripers have scattered and started moving into the backs of the creeks and are feeding on good-sized herring and medium-sized gizzard shad. The most productive areas have been out Georgia Little River toward Lloyds Creek and Germany Creek and also up SC Little River. This is the time of year for everyone to be out catching the trophy sized stripers.”
