Bartletts Ferry Fishing Report October 2016

GON Staff | September 28, 2016

Bartletts Ferry: Level: 1.2 feet below full pool; Harding will be lowered by Georgia Power Co. about 8 feet during the month of October. Temp: 82 degrees. Clarity: Light stain.

Bass: Tournament director Dennis Hudson reports, “We’ll have to worry about low water in October. They are going to drop the lake 8 feet beginning on Oct. 1 and leave it down until Nov. 1. They do that I think every three years so people can work on their seawalls and docks and do dam maintenance. It will make for some good fishing if you can get your boat in. There will be a lot of shallow structure exposed, and a shallow crankbait will be the ticket. Any of the deeper cover like laydowns will have bass on them, too, and jigs will be the way to go.”
