Bartletts Ferry Fishing Report November 2016

GON Staff | October 26, 2016

Bartletts Ferry: Level: 7.9 feet below full pool; Bartletts was lowered by Georgia Power Co. about 8 feet for the month of October. The lake will begin to return to normal pool in November. Temp: 75 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Tournament director Dennis Hudson said he was overjoyed after getting a half-inch of rain in late October. “They lowered the lake almost 8 feet like they do every other year so people can make repairs to their docks and seawalls,” he said. “The lowered water plus the lack of rain has made things tough in October. The lake is supposed to be back at its normal pool on Nov. 1, and hopefully the fishing will be a lot better. November is when you dig out the square-bill crankbaits here. The bass will pile up on the seawalls and around the docks, and that crankbait pattern will last on into the winter. You can also find a lot of success fishing jigs around the docks and in the blowdown timber up in the creeks.”
