Target shooting and playing on a big slide were just two things kids got to do last year at the Outdoor Blast in Macon.

The state’s very best hunting show has found a home in Macon. This hunting show promises activities for kids, the Backyard BBQ Blast, the Georgia Bowhunter Classic and hard-core hunting and fishing vendors, a trait that seems to be missing from many of today’s hunting shows.

The Outdoor Blast will be at the Macon Centreplex August 8, 9 and 10. There is something for everyone.

Talk with hunting and fishing vendors from all over the country. Folks selling trips, hunting gear and offering advice will be there to meet you. Expect to see only hunting and fishing vendors at the Outdoor Blast. You won’t leave this show with that not-so-fresh, flea-market feeling.

Try world-class samples from the Backyard BBQ Blast, a cooking competition that will see some of the state’s best barbecue teams.

Let the kids play on big slides, throw balls at a dunk tank, shoot bows and paint guns. The Outdoor Blast is a great tool for parents looking for something to do on a hot, August day.

At the Outdoor Blast someone will win an Illinois muzzleloader deer hunt with Midwest Whitetail Adventures.

Participate, or just watch, the Georgia Bowhunter Classic. Hosted by the guys who make the “Southern Woods n’ Water” TV show, this 3-D archery tournament has divisions for men, women and kid archers.

Watch the two-day GON Truck-Buck Shoot-Out in the Macon Coliseum. Stadium seating and all the action projected on a giant screen above the arena make this the best venue the Shoot-Out has ever had.

The North vs. South match-ups will take place Saturday, and the big dance, where a John Megel Chevy truck and Motions 4-wheeler are on the line, will take place Sunday.

The Macon Centreplex is located just north of I-16 at Exit 2. To reserve booth space at the Outdoor Blast, call (800) 438-4663.
